The cap is made of black reinforced polypropylene on a blue, reinforced polypropylene sump. The polypropylene sump material is durable, withstanding pressure fluctuation better than other materials. Additionally, the liquid inside the housing is shielded from direct sunlight, slowing bacterial growth.
